Includes 3 folding maps housed in compartments in each volume. Maps all in very good condition with light splits along seams. Occasional scuff marks on leather, but otherwise near fine.
Comments: Sir Henry Stanley was famous for his explorations of central Africa. This book recounts his journey to relieve Emin Pasha, the besieged Governor of Equatoria. This book was an international best seller, selling 150,000 copies shortly after publication in 1890.
