General Norman Schwarzkopf (1934-2012) was the commander of all coalition forces in the Persian Gulf War. Schwarzkopf led Operation Desert Storm, which consisted of an extended air campaign and later ground forces who successfully liberated Kuwait in a 100-hour offensive.
