Octavo, 618pp. Title printed on spine and front panel. In publishers original glassine dust jacket. Housed in publishers slipcase, near fine condition with light toning to spine, title on label affixed to spine, solid bindings. From a limited edition of 750 signed copies, this being number 95. Additional inscription by General Omar Bradley on the title page: “For my good friend, Gordon Gray, with pleasant memories of our service together and with high esteem. Omar N. Bradley.” A rare double inscription in a fine binding.

Comments: The recipient of this book, National Security Advisor Gordon Gray, served every president from Harry S. Truman through Gerald R. Ford. He served as the secretary of the Army under President Truman. Under President Eisenhower, Gray served as the head of the Office of Defense Mobilization and later as national security advisor. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1961 shortly before Eisenhower left office. From 1961-1976 he served on the president’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. Gordon Gray passed away in 1982.
