Twelvemo (9.5 x 6), XV. Gray boards, title printed on label affixed to front panel. Light damp stain along bottom edge, not affecting text or covers. This limited edition was printed for the specific use of President Franklin Roosevelt, but no limitation is stated, and it was not signed by the President. Also included is the printed pamphlet, which was published by R.R. Donnelley and Sons of Chicago (Halter T-618).

Comments: President Roosevelt’s speech in Chautauqua, NY in 1936 was popularly known as the “Good Neighbor” speech. He advocates that support for follow nations will prevent international wars, while denouncing racial hatred and religious intolerance. He finishes the speech with: “We believe in democracy; we believe in freedom; we believe in peace. We offer to every nation of the world the handclasp of the good neighbor. Let those who wish our friendship look us in the eye and take our hand.”
