Frontispiece portrait of Roosevelt with tissue cover. Previous gift inscription on front free end paper from publication year. Top edge gilt. Includes map of the route Roosevelt took through Africa and numerous illustrated plates. In exceptionally rare publishers dust jacket, reinforced with archival tape, loss to head of spine and top edge of panels, dampstain to spine panel, retail price of $4.00net on spine. Theodore Roosevelt served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a prolific author, writing more than 18 books during his lifetime, beginning with “The Naval War of 1812” in 1882. His other notable works include The Winning of the West, African Game Trails, and The Rough Riders.
