Arthur Miller (1915-2005) was a renowned American playwright. He received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1949 for his work, “Death of a Salesman.” Miller’s writing often had political and social undertones; most notably, “The Crucible” (1953), in which he used the Salem witch trials as an allegory for the intensity of the McCarthy era of the 1950s.
