In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $2.50 on front flap, shallow chipping along top edge, light sunning to spine, a very good example. (DAB 6, 92) Signed by the author on the half-title.

Richard E. Byrd (1888-1957) was an American naval officer and polar explorer. He is known for being the first explorer to reach the North Pole and South Pole by air, but the North Pole claim is in dispute.
