Comments: Written by Henry L. Stimson, who served as Secretary of War from 1911-13, Secretary of State from 1929-33 under President Roosevelt and Secretary of War from 1940-45. In 1927, Secretary Stimson was asked to travel to Nicaragua by President Coolidge to investigate the current conditions of the country and report on U.S. naval forces currently stationed in the country. This book was his public report on the trip.
