Richard Avedon (1923-2004) was an American photographer who did both fashion and portrait work for Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, and other fashion magazines. Notable subjects in this book include Louis Armstrong, James Baldwin, Truman Capote, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Marilyn Monroe, J. Robert Oppenheimer, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and many more.
