Thick octavo, [6], 445pp. Full blue cloth, title in gilt on front cover and spine. This copy is listed as Bulletin Number 72 and Biological Series Number 19 on the title page, with no additional printings listed. Solid text block, light wear to front hinge. Shallow bumps along edges, faint dust remnants to covers. A very good example. Previous ownership inscription on front flyleaf. Complete with 87 full-page color plates and numerous in-text black-and-white illustrations.
Signed by the author on the front flyleaf: “Extending the regards of the author / P.A. Taverner / Apr 12, 1938.”
