Comments: As early as 1621, the Elzeviers had printed a version of Tacitus, but the work was moderately executed and has fallen into obscurity. In 1634, this edition was printed with beautiful illustrations. A second edition was published in 1640, which is slightly larger. (Art, III, 474)
