Octavo, vii, [1], 99pp, [1]. Original hardcover, decorative paper-covered boards by Dorothy Shakespear Pound. Includes the “spot” for “soot” misprint (Line 9, Page 3) and “them already” for “them all already” (Line 6, page 4). Title in black on front cover and spine. No additional printings listed. Solid text block, faint toning pattern visible on front cover. Some sunning to spine, light wear to corners. Foxing along edges of text block and throughout the work, no impact to legibility. A very good example. Previous ownership inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1928. Housed in a custom black cloth clamshell.

This anthology marks the first appearance in book form of any verse by T.S. Eliot. It was limited to only 500 copies, published in November 1915. It includes five poems by Eliot, as follows: “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock,” Portrait of a Lady, The Boston Evening Transcript, Hysteria, and Miss Helen Slingsby. Other contributors include: W.B. Yeats, Carl Sandburg, Ezra Pound, and more.
