Alexander Haig (1924-2010) was a career United States Army officer who rose to four-star general and served as Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He later served as White House Chief of Staff under Presidents Nixon and Ford, then as Secretary of State under President Reagan from 1981 to 1982.
