This copy is signed on the title page by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, with invitations to a reception at the Columbia University Alumni Club in Chicago, Illinois laid-in.
General Eisenhower visited Chicago on October 23, 1950 to dedicate the Blue Island Community High School. At the time, he was serving as President of Columbia University. The visit was coordinated by his administrative assistant, Kevin McCann, a former staff member at Midlothian Newspaper. The school was renamed the Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in his honor in 1961.
