Stated “Published by the Viking Press, Inc. in March 1949” on copyright page. No additional printings listed. Slight lean to text block, slight bow to covers. Some sunning along edges.
In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, price-clipped, light wear along edges and corners. Short closed tear to top edge of front panel. This is the first state dust jacket, with the “S” of Salesman touching the edge of the figure’s arm, and a photo of Arthur Miller on the rear flap. A near fine example. Features an illustration of Willy Loman by Joseph Hirsch.
