Free of markings or writing, internally clean. In publisher’s first state dust jacket, with $23.00 on front flap, faint scrape to front cover, bright illustrations, a near fine example.

Signed on the half title: “To Gwen – All the best! Barack Obama 8/12/95.”

Dreams From My Father was published on July 18, 1995. At the time, Barack Obama was a professor of constitutional law at the University of Chicago. In 1996, he began his political career by running for a seat in the Illinois Senate. The first printing of Dreams From My Father sold only about 8,000 copies and soon went out of print. As the name recognition of Barack Obama increased, Dreams From My Father was reissued by Crown Publishing in 2004.
