Octavo, 250pp, [1]. Publisher’s black cloth, title in gilt on the front board and spine. Stated “first edition” on the copyright page. Top edge dyed pink. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $3.95 on the front flap, chip along rear panel, wear at head of the spine, a very good example.
A collection of eight stories, published posthumously after Wright’s death in November 1960. Includes “The Man Who Lived Underground,” in the shortened version first published in 1944. Wright’s original novel-length version remained unpublished until 2021.
