Inscribed by Vice President Dawes to his sister, with the following inscription: “For my sister Bernie D. Hoyt, with affectionate regards. Charles G. Dawes. Sept 17th, 1915.”

Charles G. Dawes (1865-1951) was the 30th Vice President of the United States under President Calvin Coolidge and Ambassador to Great Britain under President Herbert Hoover. This book details the speeches of Rufus Dawes, the father of Charles Dawes and military officer during the American Civil War. Rufus Dawes was known for his service with the Iron Brigade at Gettysburg.
