Octavo, xxxiv, 269pp. Publisher’s dark blue cloth over light blue paper boards, title in white and blue on the spine, blue topstain. Stated “first printing, 1965” on the copyright page. Faint brown stain to front panel, impression from paperclip on front free endpaper, otherwise clean throughout. In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $4.95 on the front flap, faint purple line through upper quarter of jacket from mylar protector, exceptionally bright illustrations along the spine, a very good example.

Published posthumously following O’Connor’s death in 1964, the collection contains nine stories from the final decade of her life, including “Everything That Rises Must Converge,” “Greenleaf,” “Revelation,” “Parker’s Back,” and “Judgement Day.” “Parker’s Back” and “Judgement Day” first appeared in book form in this collection.
