    Signed limited edition of Flight to Arras by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

    Small octavo, 255pp. Publisher’s quarter blue calf spine, beige cloth covers, title in gilt on spine. Top edge gilt with illustrated endpapers. Blue silk bookmark. Housed in the publisher’s blue cardboard slipcase, gold foil label with title on side panel, sunning to edges, soiling to spine and lower panel, solid binding. From a limited edition of 500 copies signed by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and the illustrator, Bernard Lamotte. This copy is number 163.

    While best remembered for his classic novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), Saint-Exupéry was an aviator and member of the French Air Force. This book, originally titled Pilote de Guerre, recounts Saint-Exupéry’s experience during the Battle of France in 1940. This work received the prestigious Grand Prix Littéraire de l’Aéro-Club de France, awarded to notable members of the aviation community.
