Description

First edition of Fugitives: The Story of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker by Emma Parker and Nell Barrow Cowan.

Small octavo, iv, 255pp. Red cloth, title in black on front cover and spine. Stated “First Printing, September, 1934” on copyright page. Slight lean to text block, previous owner’s bookplate on front pastedown endpaper, faint rubbing to edges, some toning to back hinge, a bright near fine example. In publisher’s dust jacket, price-clipped, two pieces of tape to spine ends on verso, light rubbing to corners, a touch of sunning to spine, a very good example.

Fugitives tells the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow from firsthand accounts by Parker’s mother, Emma, and Barrow’s sister, Nell. Bonnie and Clyde were an infamous duo, known for their robberies and murders committed during the Great Depression, leading to their eventual demise in May 1934.
