Touch of wear to cloth at top edge of spine, a near fine copy. Housed in custom brown leather clamshell, title in gilt on spine, lined in tan linen.

Dust jacket with short, closed tear at hinge of spine, shallow chipping to top edge of spine, exceptionally bright illustrations, a near fine example.
This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel was adapted into a feature film in 1939. According to a Harris Poll in 2014, this book remains the “second favorite book of American readers, just behind the Bible.”
