Han Kang (b. 1970) is a South Korean novelist and the 2024 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.” Her international breakthrough came with The Vegetarian, which won the 2016 Man Booker International Prize in English translation.
