First edition of Green Among The Blue by Al Beauchamp, inscribed to Stan Musial. Octavo, 142pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine. Stated “first edition” on copyright page. In publishers dust jacket, very good, price clipped, light brown stain on front cover, otherwise bright with minimal wear. Inscribed by author to Stan Musial, which reads: “To Stan Musial, with many Thanks – Al Beauchamp. 3/29/93.”
Comments: Stan Musial was a Major League baseball player, playing first base and outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941-1963. He is considered one of the most reliable hitters in baseball history, being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he was named the league MVP three times and helped lead the team to three World Series Pennants. In 2011, shortly before his death, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He passed away in 2013.
