Ray Kroc (1902-1984) was a milkshake machine salesman who partnered with Richard and Maurice McDonald in 1954 after discovering their innovative fast-food restaurant in San Bernardino, California. He opened the first McDonald’s franchise for them and later bought exclusive rights to the name, founding the McDonald’s Corporation in 1955. Kroc expanded the business into a global franchise empire, becoming a key figure in the fast-food industry.
