    Description

First edition of Highly Colored by Octavus Roy Cohen in the scarce dust jacket.

Octavo, 331pp. Green cloth, title in yellow on spine and front cover. No additional printings listed. Solid text block, wear to edges, small puncture to spine, a very good example. In the publisher’s scarce dust jacket, soiled covers, sunned spine, archival tape restoration to verso and hinge flaps, multiple losses. Previous ownership inscription on front endpapers.

Octavus Roy Cohen (1891-1959) was a white author from South Carolina who wrote dialect comedy and detective stories about African Americans, which were adapted into short films.
