Foldout map of Michigan affixed opposite title page, printed on rice paper, near fine condition, titled “The Tourist’s Pocket Map of Michigan,” published by S. Augustus Mitchell. An exceptional copy.
Comments: A comprehensive history of the State of Michigan, including contemporary reports on fish populations. The author, John Lanman, was the son of James Lanman, a cousin of both Presidents John Adams and President John Quincy Adams. Lanman wrote this book while visiting his brother in Michigan.
