Original illustrated wrappers. Front cover starting, still stable. Faint wear to edges, small peeled tear to rear cover. Internally fine. London’s piece, with in-text portrait, runs on pages 122 and 123.

The Comrade ran from 1901 to 1905, during the breakout years of the Socialist party. It is considered a “forerunner” and “predecessor” of other notable socialist magazines like The Masses and the International Socialist Review (MIA). This volume of the magazine features socialist art and political cartoons, as well as writings from notable socialist authors like Jack London, John Spurge, and Lucinda B. Chandler.
