In the publisher’s exceptionally rare dust jacket, closed tears, light soiling to panels. The only known example of this jacket to reach the public market.
Inscribed on the front free endpaper: “Mrs. Charles W. Dunn / With the compliments of Woodrow Wilson / 13 March, 1918.”
This book is inscribed to Mrs. Alice Hafner Dunn, wife of Charles Wesley Dunn. While attending Princeton University, Charles W. Dunn (1885-1959) was a student of President Woodrow Wilson, and Wilson had “a great influence on his intellectual development.” Dunn later became a corporate attorney, specializing in food, drug, and antitrust law. As a professor at New York University, he founded the Food and Drug Law Institute.
