Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents of the United States

Limited Edition

Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents, a deluxe limited edition copy, signed by First Lady Jackie Kennedy with incredible inscription following the death of President John F. Kennedy.

Octavo, 270pp. Brown leather bindings, gilt title and decorations on spine, presidential seal on front in gilt, recipients initials “W.W.” on front cover. All gilt end leafs. Original slipcase, marbled boards. Sunning on spine. Inscribed by First Lady Jackie Kennedy: “For Bill, Jack was going to give you this for Christmas. Please accept it now from me. With my love, for all you did for Jack. December 1963, Jackie”

Comments: An incredible association copy, being that this was signed shortly after the death of President John F. Kennedy. The recipient, William Walton, was a confident of President Kennedy, journalist and abstract painter. He played a pivotal role in the redecoration of the White House and later in choosing the location of Kennedy’s final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery.
