Percival Everett (b. 1956) is an award-winning author, most recently recognized with the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for James. This novel is a re-imagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, told from the perspective of Huckleberry’s friend James, an enslaved person escaping to freedom.
