Octavo, xiii, [1], 441pp, [1] Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine. The first printing, with no additional printings noted on the copyright page. Faint soiling to frontispiece and title page, wear along leafends. Wear to tips of the spine, spot of soiling to rear panel. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $5.75 on the front flap, label remnant along the spine, light wear along margins, a very good example.
This copy is signed by both authors on the title page: “Washington D.C. / For the library of Dr. Abraham Friedman D.D., with appreciation for expert medical assistance. Cordially Charles A. Willoughby, Major Gen. U.S.A / John Chamberlain.” Includes a partial letter affixed to the second free endpaper by Gen. Willoughby, noting this copy was signed by Gen. MacArthur on a visit to New York City.
The book is signed on the half-title by Douglas MacArthur.
