Arnold Palmer (1929-2016), was an American professional golfer widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He turned professional in 1954 and won his first major championship, the 1958 Masters Tournament, only a few years later. He went on to win a total of seven major championships, including four Masters titles (1958, 1960, 1962, 1964), two Open Championships (1961, 1962), and one U.S. Open (1960).
Beyond his achievements on the course, Palmer was the author of numerous books, including: My Game and Yours, (1965), A Golfer’s Life (1999), a memoir co-written with James Dodson, Playing By the Rules: The Rules of Golf Explained and Illustrated (2002), and numerous books on playing style.
