Ted Williams (1918-2002) played professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox for 19 years between 1939 to 1960, with interruptions for military service in both World War II and the Korean War. Williams retired with a .344 batting average, 19 All Star appearances, and two Triple Crown wins.
