An important work by Harvard Professor Henry Kissinger, who postulates that a “limited” nuclear war was now possible with the development of portable atomic weapons. His thesis has remained part of the strategic thinking of the United States since its inception.

This early work by future Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was nominated for the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 1958.
