Description
The second printing of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, in a second state dust jacket.
Octavo, [8], 422pp, [2]. Green cloth, title stamped in gilt. Stated “First Edition” on copyright page. Number line ending with “2” on the colophon. Previous ownership inscription on the front free endpapers, faint offsetting to endpaper. Internally clean, solid text block. In the publisher’s second state dust jacket, $7.95 retail price on front flap, short closed tear on rear panel, shallow chipping along the spine, a very good example. The second state dust jacket lacks the exclamation point after “Latin America” on the front flap. An attractive example.
First published in Spanish in 1967, under the title Cien Años de Soledad, by Editorial Sudamericana (Buenos Aires), with illustrated wrappers.
