Inscribed and dated by the author, with four handwritten lines of poetry on the front free endpaper.
Poems Old and New received the Ridgely Torrence Memorial Award in 1956 and the Borestone Mountain Poetry Award in 1957. Wheelock was a longtime editor at Charles Scribner’s Sons and author of numerous volumes of American verse.
