Signed first edition of Report From Part One, an autobiography by Gwendolyn Brooks, together with a first edition of Report From Part Two.

Octavo, 215pp, [1]. Full blue cloth, title in gilt on front cover and spine. Solid text block, light shelf wear, near fine condition. Lacking the dust jacket, as issued.

Inscribed by the author on the half-title: “For Mary Lou Stephan, with best wishes. Sincerely, Gwendolyn Brooks.”

The copy of Report From Part Two is unsigned, in near fine condition, and states “First Printing, 1996” on copyright page. A nice duo, rarely seen paired together.

Gwendolyn Brooks (1917-2000), a renowned author, was the first African American to receive a Pulitzer Prize. Her book of poetry, Annie Allen, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry on May 1, 1950.
