Largo octavo, 224pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine and front panel. Some wear to blue cloth covers, light soiling. In publisher’s dust jacket, shelf wear, overall very good. Inscribed by the author on the half title: “To Rex Scouten…I shall always be grateful for your tremendous help and encouragement in making “Season’s Greetings From The White House” become a reality. I trust this unique history will serve as a useful reference for you as curator at the White House. Mary Seeley. August, 1996.”

Rex Scouten was the Chief Usher under four US Presidents (Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan), then White House curator from 1986 until 1997. Scouten was known to be professional and discrete in his relationships with the nation’s top leaders. He developed a true friendship with the Nixon family, with the Nixon children continuing to write to him even after their father left office.
