Inscribed photograph of President Jimmy Carter greeting Governor-elect Bill Clinton at the White House.

Photograph was taken by a White House photographer on December 1, 1978, shortly before Bill Clinton would take office as the second youngest governor in Arkansas history. Photograph is black and white, measures 8″ x 10″. Signed by President Jimmy Carter with a full signature. Inscribed by President Clinton: “To Darlene – This was a long time ago! Thanks for helping Joe Sestak – Bill Clinton.”

Joe Sestak (b. 1951) represented Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District and ran for the United States Senate. He was Bill Clinton’s Director for Defense Policy, serving on the National Security Council. He was a three-star vice admiral.
