Light wear to tips of the spine, bookplate on the front pastedown. First-state points, with “Thoughts About Art” appearing as the first preliminary advertisement and the R B star device at the foot of the spine.

The London edition preceded, but this Boston edition contains poems not present in the English issue, with substantial textual differences. Songs Of The Sierras established Miller’s literary reputation in England and gave rise to his nickname, the “Poet of the Sierras.”
