Provenance: The signatures were obtained by Ricky Kleinman, a member of the International Association Fire Fighters union, who is cited multiple times throughout the book. From Mr. Kleinman: “With the exception of Obama, the signatures were obtained during the last months of 2007 while the then Democratic candidates were campaigning in Iowa ahead of the Iowa Caucus held on January 3, 2008. The Chris Dodd and Joe Biden signatures were obtained on November 19, 2007, at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Des Moines. President Obama signed on April 27, 2010, while attending a town hall meeting at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.” (Heritage Auctions, Lot 47222, 2026)
