In the publisher’s second state dust jacket, with a small gap on the author’s portrait between Salinger’s hair and the upper edge of the rear panel. This copy has the $3.00 retail price placed over the “R” of “Catcher” on the front flap. Light sunning to spine, small chips to corners and edges, one inch short closed tear to center of spine. (Starosciak A. 30) (Burgess 53)
A card is laid in at front, stating “With the compliments of the Publishers” from Little, Brown, and Company.
A nice copy of a modern American classic.
