First edition, with Scribner’s “A” on copyright page. No priority given for maroon cloth and blue cloth printings. In publishers first edition dust jacket, fine condition, $1.75 on front flap, bright illustrations. (Tracey, 005) Signed by former President Herbert Hoover on front end paper, with inscription: “To E.W. Libbey. With the kind regards of Herbert Hoover.” Mr. Libbey served in the Department of Commerce, working closely with Hoover during his time as the secretary of commerce.
