In the publisher’s dust jacket, soiling to the spine, solid hinges. Dust jacket not previously recorded. No known examples have appeared on the public market.

MacKay’s work traces the history of evangelical religion in Gaelic Scotland from the arrival of the Columban-Celtic Church in the sixth century through the medieval church, the Scottish Reformation, the Covenanter period, eighteenth-century decline, and the evangelical awakening in the Highlands and Islands through 1843.
