Founded in Nashville in 1893 by Confederate veteran Sumner Archibald Cunningham, “The Confederate Veteran” became the principal periodical devoted to Confederate veterans and their organizations. The magazine contains firsthand accounts of battles and military service, biographies and obituaries of Confederate soldiers, regimental histories, reunion reports, and genealogical material.
