Almost imperceptible moisture ripple at lower right corner of text block, from Chapter 7 through 13, no impact to text. Free of marks or notations, solid text block. In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $5.95 retail price on the front flap, blurbs by Pearl S. Buck and Virgilia Peterson on both front and rear panels, faint sunning to spine, short closed tear along rear panel, a near fine example.

The first state jacket is identifiable with Pearl S. Buck and Virgilia Peterson blurbs on the front and rear panels. The second issue jacket has the same retail price ($5.95), but with only one blurb by Virgilia Peterson on the front panel and seven blurbs on the rear panel.
