Octavo, [10], 276pp. Full black cloth, title in gilt on spine. Red topstain, yellow endpapers. Stated “First Edition” on copyright page, no additional printings listed. Solid text block, shallow bumps along spine and bottom edge, near fine. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $4.50 retail price on front flap, shelf worn with small stains, with faint chips to spine head and tail. A very good example.
Inscribed by the author on the title page, “For Peter Dzwonkoski with best wishes / Frederick Buechner / 11.iii.80.”
