Octavo, [6], 553pp, [1]. Publisher’s turquoise cloth, title in gilt on the spine, pink endpapers. Stated “First Published 1939” on the copyright page. Light rubbing to tips of the spine, internally clean. In the publisher’s purple dust jacket, 8s 6d on the front flap, faint dampstain to verso, rubbing along the spine and hinges, a very good example. Published in September of 1939, with a print run of 430,000 copies.
