Octavo, [8], 218pp, [1]. Dark green cloth, title in gilt on spine, blind stamped title and author on front cover. Scribner’s logo on copyright page. Light wear to tips of the spine, exceptionally bright cloth and gilt on the spine. Previous ownership inscription in pencil on the front free endpaper. This is the first printing, with all first issue points: “sick in tired” on page 205, “Union Street station” on page 211, “northern” on page 119 and “chatter” on page 60. Lacking publisher’s dust jacket. Clean text throughout, solid text block.
